WALTER E. "BILL" COX, 87, of Eastland, TX passed
away on Oct. 6, 2004.
Mr. Cox was born on Sept. 5, 1917 in Alvarado,
TX, to Walter & Mattie Cox. He attended Ranger
High School in the Class of 1937 at Ranger, TX.
He married Mary Etta Cox (RHS-1936) in Sept. of
1938. Walter was a longtime resident of Eastland
County, having lived in both Ranger & Eastland.
He was a retired pipe welder & member of Pipeliners
Local #798. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge
#738 in Ranger. Walter had been a member of the
Church of Christ.
At the time of his death, he was survived by two
sons, Eddie and wife Donna of Red Oak, and Danny
and wife Sharon of Arlington; and by four grand-
children, Brent Cox, Corey Cox, Cody Cox, Jayna
Bernard; and two great-grandchildren, Morghan
and Bishop Bernard.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter
and Mattie, his wife, Mary, and by one daughter,
Sandra (Cox) Holloway.
