DAISY WOODS POUNDS, 77, died March 1, 1997 in Plano,
TX, with interment at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
Mrs. Pounds was born on Nov. 14, 1919, to Harvey
Orville & Una Davenport Woods. She grew up in Ranger,
TX, graduating from Ranger High School in 1937. She
worked for Lone Star Gas for 19 years & Ratiliff Feed
Store for seven years. Daisy was a member of Royal
Neighbors & First United Methodist Church. She married
Leonard Pounds (RHS-1929) in 1941; he preceded her in
death, a son, Lewis Pounds (RHS-1968), and a sister,
Lucille Woods Brown (RHS-1936).
Survivors at the time of her death include two sons,
L.H. Pounds (RHS-1965) of Plano and Billy Bob Pounds
of Fort Stockton; one daughter, Alyce Pounds Gooch
(RHS-1961) of Big Lake; two brothers, H.O. Woods (RHS-
1942) of Midland and Bobby Woods (RHS-1943) of Fort
Worth; five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren
and many nieces and nephews.
