AUDREY EAVES WEEKES, 78, died at Fort Worth,
TX in Oct. of 1997. Mrs. Weekes was born
in Gibtown to Ada Mae Frost & J.H. Eaves and
graduated from Ranger High School at Ranger,
TX. She worked during WWII at a plant in
Ranger that made ammunition boxes. She was
employed by Atlas Corp. and Worth Wells in
Odessa as a draftsman for 30 years and moved
to Strawn in 1933. She was the widow of Kenneth
Weekes, whom she married in 1937 at Houston, TX.
Survivors at the time of her death include one son,
Bob Weekes of Mingus; two grandchildren; and two
great-grandchildren. Interment was in Mount Marion
Cemetery at Strawn. Her siblings (all deceased)
were Olive Eaves, Troy Eaves, Geneva Eaves Guess
(RHS-1936), Laura Mae Eaves (RHS-1935), Hazel
Eaves Kitley (RHS-1931), and Johnie Ruth Eaves
Lyon (RHS-1945).
