MILDRED FERN MITCHELL KRIBBS, 94 of
Midlothian, TX passed away July 5, 2014, with
interment at the Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger,
TX,
Mildred Fern Mitchell was born Dec. 2, 1919 in
Thurber, TX to parents, Lee Mitchell & Winnie
Jane Havins Mitchell. Their family then moved to
Strawn & later to Ranger when Mildred was five.
She graduated from Ranger High School in 1937.
She went on to attend Brantley-Draughon Business
College and graduated in 1939. Mildred married
Eugene Kribbs (RHS-1936) in 1940 in Fort Worth.
She worked for Killingsworth Hardware Store in
Ranger as the secretary & bookkeeper. The Kribbs’
moved to Dallas in 1950. Later, she worked for
Sanger-Harris in Dallas in the fine jewelry
department for 17 years. The Kribbs’ moved to
Breckenridge from Dallas in 1976 where they were
both members of First Baptist Church. Mildred was
a charter member of Triple L and was the planning
coordinator. She was also the coordinator for the
children’s department at the church. In 2012, Mrs.
Kribbs moved to Midlothian to live with her daughter
several years after Mr. Kribbs passed away.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Kribbs;
her parents, Lee and Winnie Mitchell; brother, Robert
Lee Mitchell (RHS-1932); and sister, Doris Mitchell
Robinson (RHS-1929).
Mrs. Kribbs is survived by her two daughters, Barbara
Ross of Midlothian, Diane Anderson and husband Jim of
Flower Mound; grandchildren, Rhonda Welch and Randy
Ross of Midlothian, Staci Taylor of Corinth, Amy Dickey
of Commerce City, CO, and Travis Anderson of Plano;
nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews,
and cousins.
