Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1938

LERA NELL HAGAR PUGH, 81, of Ranger, TX passed away in 2002, with burial in Merriman Cemetery near Ranger. Mrs. Pugh was born on Sept. 16, 1920 in the Mangum Community in Eastland County to John C. & Bertha Mae Bender Hagar. She grew up in Eastland County & attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1938. She married Willard Lee Pugh (RHS-1938) in May of 1939 in Fredrick OK. They lived in numerous towns following the oilfield, including Denver City where she worked in the dietary department of Yoakum County Hospital for over 20 years. They also lived in Albany, Aspermont & Lovington, NM, always returning back to Ranger & Eastland County. Mrs. Pugh was a member of the Mesquite & Rusk St. Church of Christ. At the time of her death, she was survived by her husband of 62 years, Willard Lee Pugh (RHS-1938) of Ranger; daughters, Mary Pugh Walton (RHS-1958) of Ranger, Shirley Pugh Walton (RHS-1961) of Amarillo and Barbara Pugh Perry of Lubbock; son, Willard L. Pugh Jr. (RHS-1959) of Santee, CA; brother, Bonnie Hagar of Phoenix, AZ; and sister, Neva Trotter of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grand- children; and numerous nieces and nephews.
