Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1938

Willard Pugh WILLARD L. "BUCK" PUGH, SR., 84, of Ranger, TX passed away on Oct. 23, 2003, with burial in Merriman Cemetery near Ranger, TX. Mr. Pugh was born on March 3, 1919 in Eastland, TX to David Franklin & Mittie (Burks) Pugh. He grew up and graduated high school in Ranger and went to work as a teenager for AMOCO Pipeline Company, where he continued for over 40 years as a gauger. He was a World War II Army Veteran. He married Lera Nell Hagar (RHS-1938) in May of 1939 in Fredrick, OK, and she preceded him in death in May of 2002. Other than traveling to different locations with his work, Mr. Pugh remained in Eastland County most of his life. He enjoyed teaching his grandchildren to drive. He was a member of the Ranger Masonic Lodge AF and AM # 738. He was also a member of the Mesquite & Rusk St. Church of Christ. Mr. Pugh is survived by a son, Willard L. Pugh Jr. (RHS- 1959) of Santee, CA; 3 daughters, Mary Pugh Walton (RHS- 1958) of Ranger, Shirley Walton (RHS-1961) of Amarillo, and Barbara Perry of Lubbock; sister, Barbara Pugh Wheat (RHS-1948) of Ranger; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grand- children; & several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Nona Pugh Vinson (RHS-1942). Another sister was Davie Pugh Estes (RHS-1930).
