JESSE LEROY SMITH, 85, of Stanton, TX formerly of
Midland, died on April 15, 2005 in Midland, with
burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
He was born March 3, 1920, in Tarrant, TX & married
Janie Ivy (RHS-1941) in May of 1939 in Eastland.
She preceded him in death. He was in the Ranger
High School Class of 1939 but graduated from
Colony High School. Jesse served in the U.S.
Army during WWII. He was also preceded in
death by his parents & a sister.
At the time of his death, survivors include two
sons, Stanley Smith of Abilene, Michael Smith of
Stanton; one daughter, Rene Heard of Whitharral;
seven grandchildren; & eight great-grandchildren.
