MARY MODENA THOMPSON BENNETT, 79, was born
on March 22, 1923, the daughter of Willie Dee
Jennings Thompson Sutton and Thomas Birdwell
Thompson, died on Jan. 5, 2003, in Dallas where
she lived. She graduated from Ranger High School
in 1940 in Ranger, TX. She was buried in Mt. Zion
Cemetery.
She is survived by her husband, Earl Vincent
Bennett of Dallas and two daughters, Janis L.
Butcher of San Diego, CA, and Susan K. Bennett
of Dunedin, FL.
Mrs. Bennett's great-grandparents were J.R. &
Nancy A. Veale & her grandparents were E.Y. and
Modena Jennings, all of whom are buried at Mt.
Zion Cemetery located in Stephens County, about
ten miles north of Ranger.
