Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1940

Agnus Rushing IDA AGNES HOLDER RUSHING, 88, of Ranger, TX passed away on May 22, 2010 in Eastland, TX, with burial in Cross Roads Cemetery near Ranger. Agnes was born March 8, 1922 in Ranger to Stonewall Jackson (SJ) and Ida May (Clark) Holder. She married James Franklin Rushing in 1940 in Dublin. For several years they lived nine miles north of Ranger and in 1953 they moved to Ranger where they lived for many years. She worked beside her husband in the fields before moving to town where she helped him in the radiator shop, then for many years she was an LVN at Ranger General Hospital until retiring. For the last six years and seven months she resided in the Valley View Healthcare Center in Eastland. Agnes was dedicated in her faith and contributed in church activities for many years. She made fresh yeast rolls for many church functions and for shut-ins. She was a remarkable seamstress, cook, cake decorator and gardener. She loved her family and her church family. She was very active in World Bible School correspondence courses for many years. Agnes gave her life to her faith and her family and was an excellent wife and mother. She will always be remembered for her kind heart, her bold personality, her strength and her delightful smile. The world is a better place for having been blessed with her presence. Agnes was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a granddaughter, Kimberly Lynn Rushing & a great-granddaughter, Natasha Hitt. Her immediate family includes, daughters, Frances Hitt of Cisco, Linda Wilson of Fort Worth, Barbara White and husband, Charles, of Ranger; sons, Larry Rushing (RHS-1972) of Hearne and James Rushing (RHS-1977) and wife, Jennifer, of Ranger; 11 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great- grandchildren.
