MARIE WILLIAMSON TANKERSLEY, 89, of Ranger, TX
passed away on Feb. 8, 2012 in Decatur, TX, with
burial at the Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX.
Marie was born on Nov. 18, 1922 in Eastland County,
Texas to the late Jasper Williamson and Ovie Phillips
Williamson. Marie graduated from Ranger High School in
1941. In 1946, she married George Tankersley (RHS-1941)
in Eastland and he preceded her in death in 2000. Marie
also served her country through the United States Navy
where she obtained the rank of Seaman first class. She
was a member of the Eastside Baptist Church in Ranger.
Marie loved to travel, and was also very fond of music
and dancing. She was born and raised in Eastland County,
and after moving away for a time, she returned to Ranger
in 1976.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband,
one son, Terry Tankersley, and her brothers and sisters.
At the time of her death, she was survived by two sons,
Phillip Tankersley and wife Jane of Haslet, Clifford
Tankersley of Ranger, one step-son, Norman Tankersley
and wife Donna of Mineral Wells. Numerous grandchildren,
great-grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
