BILLIE MARIE DAVENPORT WARD,74, passed
on Nov. 16, 2000 in Atwater, CA.
She was born in Ranger, TX, on Feb. 19,1926 to
Chaney Marie Brashier & Wyatt Guy Davenport. She
was raised in Ranger and went to Ranger High until
1942, when she married Mathew Lawrence "Sam" Ward.
She left Ranger and moved to West Texas and bore
two sons, Larry and Gary and one daughter, Darla.
The family eventually moved to New Mexico and then
in 1962 to Bakersfield, CA. Billie worked in the
retail business for over 20 years. She and her
husband, Sam moved to Atwater in 1995 to be near
her daughter and family.
She left behind 10 grandchildren & 7 great-grand-
children. She also left behind a sister, Betty
Davenport Hannah (RHS-1951) who resides in Merced,
CA. She is preceded in death by her brother, W.G.
"Dub" Davenport (RHS-1950).
