LEONARD PAUL ARTERBURN, 81, of Gary, TX, was
born July 31, 1926, in Drumright, OK, the son of the
late Margaret Ellison and E F. Arterburn, Sr. He
passed away on Aug. 11, 2007.
Mr. Arterburn was a retired machinist for Rohm and Haas
Texas, Inc., following more than 30 years of service. He
served his country in the United States Army during the
World War II conflict. Mr. Arterburn was a member of the
Elks Lodge in Baytown. He was also a member of the Springs
of the Living Water Pentecostal Church. Formerly a longtime
resident of Baytown, Mr. Arterburn had resided in Gary for
the past 12 years.
Survivors at the time of his death include his wife of 36
years, Frances Arterburn of Gary, sons and daughters-in-law,
Bill and Doris Robinson of Lusk, Wyoming, and Kenneth and
Lucille Tilton of Gary, daughter, Jill Crowder of Baytown,
four grandchildren, Andy and Shawna Robinson, Nolan Robinson,
Tracie Ashley and Jack Crowder, III; four great grandchildren,
Jacob Robinson, Josie Berge, Justin Robinson & Tripp Hatcher;
brothers and sisters-in-law, E.F. Arterburn, Jr. (RHS-1940),
and Joyce Arterburn of Lubbock, D.C. Arterburn (RHS-1940) &
wife Dorothy Lewis Arterburn (RHS-1946) of Amarillo, Junior
Arterburn (RHS-1946), as well as numerous nieces, nephews
and other relatives.
He graduated from Ranger High School with the Class of 1945
in Ranger, TX and was active in the sports of football and
basketball.
