Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1945 RJC

Robert Bundick ROBERT WARNER BUNDICK, 88, passed away on Dec. 2, 2015, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. Robert was born on Sept. 23, 1927, in Ranger, TX to Richard Otto Bundick & Mary Florence Lewis Bundick. He graduated from Ranger High School in 1945. The same day he graduated high school, he immediately joined the U.S. Navy and served on the YMS-170 minesweeper. After his discharge, Robert attended Ranger Jr. College. He began his career with livestock, working for C.P. Cloud of Lampasas trading wool and mohair, which then led him to a fulfilling and rewarding career as a livestock auctioneer. Robert also enjoyed trading in agricultural commodities. He was a voracious reader and especially enjoyed philosophical and metaphysical writings. Survivors: daughter, Betty Bundick-Anderson; sister, Peggy Jean Bundick Hodges (RHS-1944); stepson, Michael Penn Smith; grandson, Robert Cody Anderson; former spouse, Dorothy Penn Bundick (RHS-1945). MOTHER: MARY FORENCE LEWIS BUNDICK, 97, a music and voice teacher, died on Aug. 25, 2002, in Fort Worth, TX, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger, TX. Mary Florence Bundick was born Dec. 15, 1904, in Hopkins, County. A resident of Fort Worth the last 32 years, Mrs. Bundick had been a voice and piano teacher, playing the piano for the Strawn Chapter, Order of Eastern Star, where she was a member for 76 years. She was a member of Birchman Baptist Church. She also lived in Ranger a number of years where her children were born, raised and educated. Ranger High students of that era will also remember her when she operated Swaney’s Ross Drug Store, a soda fountain and notions shop on Main St. She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Otto Bundick, in 1943. Survivors at the time of her death: children, Robert Bundick (RHS-1945) of Crowley & Peggy Bundick Hodges (RHS-1944) of Fort Worth; grandchildren, Betty Jean Anderson of Fort Worth, Mary Ellen Pearcyof North Richland Hills and Michael Penn Smith of Dallas; great-grandchildren, Cody Anderson and Mallory and Justin Pearcy; & nephew, Joe Riley Lewis of Lubbock, TX.
