WANDA JUNE DRINKARD DAVIS, 88, peacefully
passed from this life to the next on June 17,
2020, with burial in Evergreen Cemetery at
Ranger, TX.
Wanda June Drinkard was born on Feb. 17, 1932
in Ranger, TX. She graduated from Ranger High
School in 1949. Wanda married Billy Wayne Davis
in March of 1951 in Gray's Harbor, Washington
State. She went on to have a very successful
career with the Corp of Engineers being excellent
at processing data. It should be mentioned even
in her advanced age June was extremely tech
savvy, to the point she knew more about computers
and gadgets then most of even the young people
in her family.
June had a passion for gardening, needle work of
all kinds, and painting. She was blessed with much
artistic talent. Also, it should be mentioned that
she enjoyed being a member of the FW Begonia Society.
Preceding her in death are her parents, son, Lynn
Marion Davis III; and a brother, Donald Drinkard
(RHS-1951).
She is survived by her loving husband of 69 years,
Billy Wayne Davis; son, Michael Davis and wife,
Kelly; daughter, Kathy Gibson and husband, Daniel;
brothers, Arthur Dreinhofer and Fred Dreinhofer
and wife, Jeannie; 5 grandchildren; and 4 great-
grandchildren.
HUSBAND: BILLY WAYNE DAVIS, 90, of Ranger, TX
passed peacefully in his sleep on Oct. 22, 2022,
with burial in Evergreen Cemetery.
Bill was born in Smackover, AR on Jan. 21, 1932
to Lynn & Mary Davis. He met Wanda June Drinkard
in Falfurrias, TX, whom he later married in March
of 1951 in Oregon. Bill served in the U.S> Air
Force for 15 years. The couple was stationed in
many places around the country as well as Germany.
They eventually settled in Fort Worth, TX. Upon
leaving the service, Bill was employed by the
Cotton Belt Southern Pacific Railroad, retiring
after 30 years of employment. They moved to Ranger,
in the early 2000s, where they lived out their
“golden” years.
Mr. Davis was preceded in death by his adoring
wife of 69 years, Wanda June Davis, a son Lynn
Marion Davis, III, parents, two brothers and a
sister.
Bill is survived by his oldest son Michael Davis
and wife Kelly and daughter Kathy Gibson & husband
Dan. Other survivors include grandchildren Chris
Davis, Cara Griswold & husband Jeff, Mary Gibson,
Susie Sears and husband Rafael, and Becky Douglas
and husband Bryson. Great-grandchildren include
Mari, Bella, Addie and Davis Griswold. He is also
survived by nephews, nieces and honorary grand-
daughters Jackie Garza and Liz Brandt of Ranger.
