Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1957 RJC

Charles Tibbels CHARLES WILLIAMS "TOAD" TIBBELS, 76 of Ranger, TX, passed away June 9, 2016 in Eastland, TX, with burial at the Bullock Cemetery near Ranger. Mr. Tibbels was born Aug. 17, 1939 in Ranger to Fred Tibbels & Jewel Smith Tibbels (RJC-Faculty). Charles graduated from Ranger High School in the Class of 1957 & attended Ranger Jr. College. He married Betty Napier in Aug. of 1963 at Ranger. He served in the Army Reserves & was a member of the First Baptist Church. Survivors at the time of his death include his wife, Betty; a son, Sherman W. Tibbels and wife Lori; a daughter, Lesley Boelter and husband Allen; a brother, Harris Russell “Pete” Tibbels (RHS-1956) and wife Kay King (RHS-1958); 2 sisters, Billie Joe Newman and husband Jack, and Sandra Tibbels Welch (RHS-1964); and 2 grandchildren, Carolina & Jacob Boelter. WIFE: BETTY LOIS NAPIER TIBBELS of Ranger, TX passed away April 6, 2022, with burial in Bullock Cemetery near Ranger. Betty was born on Dec. 26 1940, in Lone Pine, CA to R.L. & Ruth (Hall) Napier. Betty shared her birth year with her older sister Norma Jean Napier Jacoby who was born Feb. 4th. She attended school in Olden, TX where she played tennis and basketball. The three "Napier Girls" Norma, Betty and Verna remained extremely close their entire lives and missed each other greatly at each other’s passing. Some of Betty's favorite childhood memories include jumping on the bed with her sisters, working on their Aunt Maybel's vegetable farm with her family and playing sports. She married the love of her life Charles "Toad" Tibbels August 17, 1963. They were married on Toad's birthday so that he would not forget their anniversary. They were happily married until his passing in 2016 just months before their 53rd anniversary. Betty was a very loving wife, mother, grandmother and aunt. She enjoyed the cattle they raised but always admitted her head chute skills were not the best. In her last hours she was dreaming of gathering cattle in the lot, always fond memories for her. Betty was preceded in death by her parents R.L.& Ruth Napier;husband Charles Tibbels; sisters Norma Jacoby and Verna Gailey. She is survived by her children, Sherman Tibbels, Lesley Boelter and husband Allen; grandchildren Carolina and Jacob Boelter.
