Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1958

Shirley Sharp Gentry SHIRLEY ANN SHARP GENTRY passed away peacefully at the age of 73 on Nov. 9, 2013 in Eastland, TX, with burial in the Evergreen Cemetery at Ranger, TX. She was born to M.C. & Dessie N. (Hamilton) Sharp on Oct. 15, 1940 in the Cottonwood Community. She attended Ranger High School for a few years in the Class of 1958. Shirley aka “Mimi” lived for her grand-kids and her favorite “things to do” always included being involved in whatever activity they were doing. She was well known for her love for the sport of rodeo and served as queen coordinator with the Ranger Jaycees for many years. She was a member of Ranger First Baptist Church. She married Doyle Gentry (RHS-1955) in June of 1958. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, M.C. and Dessie Sharp; her husband, Doyle Gentry; one brother, Curtis Sharp (RHS-1952); and two sisters, Maxine Sharp Norris (RHS-1944), & Clara Sharp Houx (RHS-1949). Survivors at the time of her death include her two children, Jackie Gentry (RHS-1978), and Kelly Bond (RHS-1981) of Ranger; her grandchildren, Brady McCormick and his wife Kelsey of Branford, FL, Jessica Gentry of Wylie, TX, and Rowdy Bond of Ranger; one new great-grandbaby, Cutter McCormick; sister, Kathy Sharp McIntire (RHS-1968) & husband Ronald of Breckenridge; and one brother, Jerry Sharp and wife Frances of Strawn.
