BILLY JOE JOHNSON, 66, of Potosi, TX died July 15,
2010, with burial at Evergreen Cemetery in Ranger,
TX.
Billy Joe was born in Ranger, TX on Aug. 18, 1943
to William Thomas & Bobbie Jo (Wheat) Johnson. He
attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1961. He
raised goats and loved to take his boat out and fish
after which we would have a fish fry. At every family
gathering, he was the BBQ king. For fourteen years,
he was a long distance driver who had a passion for
classic cars. He was a wonderful husband, father and
grandfather; a very unselfish person with everybody
and had a good sense of humor.
His father was killed in an explosion and his mother
later married Terrell Williamson (RHS-1936) who died
in 2010.
At the time of his death, he was survived by his wife,
Lois (Simmons) Johnson of Abilene; a son, William Neal
Johnson of Clyde; a daughter, Christy Diaz of Florida;
his mother Bobbie Jo of Abilene; one brother, Eddie
Frank Williamson of Abilene; aunt and uncle, Carey and
Ruth Shipley of Aledo, TX; 13 grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren; a host of cousins and a special
cousin, Johnny Merritt.
