Ranger Exes Memorial - The Faculty

Evangeline Drennan Brewer EVANGELINE DRENNAN BREWER passed away at her home in Eastland, TX on Oct. 8, 2013, with burial at the Everman Cemetery in Everman, TX. She was born April 12, 1922 in McGregor, TX to Kearby & Dottie Gordon Dorris. She graduated from Huckabay High School in 1939 as Valedictorian. She went on to receive a Bachelor of Arts in Education from McMurry in Abilene in 1956 and a Masters Degree in Library Science from Texas Woman’s University in Denton in 1965. She taught elementary school in Baird and in Ranger and was the high school Librarian in Ranger, TX & in Everman. She retired from Everman ISD in 1982 after 17 years. She was a member of Eastland First United Methodist Church and Everman Chapter No. 624 Order of the Eastern Star and Eastland Chapter No. 280. She was also a member of the Eastland County Retired Teachers. She helped establish the Everman Public Library in 1986 and was chairman of the first library board. She was preceded in death by husbands J.D. Drennan and George Brewer & daughters Linda Drennan Yarbrough (RHS-1960) and Donna Drennan Shepard (RHS-1962). She is survived by her son Jim Drennan (RHS-1964) and wife Penny of Asheville, NC, and daughter Carol Drennan Naegele (RHS-1966) of Eastland, stepsons Eddy Brewer of Stephenville and Freddy Brewer of Arlington. She is also survived by two sisters, Ann Maxwell and husband Max of Ft. Worth and Waldeen Pearson of Lubbock, TX. Many grandchildren and great-grandchildren share her love.
