Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1930 The Faculty

Kenneth Wier Jameson KENNETH CLAIR WIER JAMESON was born July 29, 1911, at Staff, TX, the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. A.K. Wier. She had a brother, David Truett Wier (RHS-1925). The Wier family moved to Ranger, TX in 1913 & Kenneth graduated with the Ranger High School Class of 1930 and finished CIA (now Texas Women's University at Denton) in 1933 with a degree in "Voice". She studied in Germany and later, in 1968, earned an additional MS degree in library science at Hardin Simmons Uni- versity. In 1937, she married Aubrey Murl Jameson died in 1972, in Ranger. In order to support her family, she worked for the American Red Cross in the 40s and early '50s. They had two sons. Aubrey Murl Pete Jameson, Jr. (RHS-1956) and Kenneth Wier "Pat" Jameson (RHS-1965), died in 1983. Mrs. Jameson taught at Gordon and later at Ranger High School during the 60s and past the mid-70s. She died at Ranger in Jan. of 1986. Aubrey Murl Jameson, Sr., came to Ranger with his parents and his brother, Roy, in 1919. He was married to Gertrude Harwood prior to his marriage to Kenneth Jameson. They had a son, David Lee Jameson, II. Aubrey, Sr. received bachelor's and master's degrees in English from Baylor University and attended Harvard. He obtained a second master's degree from Texas A&M in vocational education and taught in Eastland and Breckenridge until 1938 when he suffered a severe stroke. His parents, David and Hilie Jameson owned and operated a grocery store in Ranger. The parents and their two sons, Aubrey and Roy Jameson (RHS- 1930) maintained the store until the early 30s when it was closed. Aubrey Murl Pete Jameson and his wife, Barbara Flowers (RHS-1955), reside on their ranch near Ranger. He was first married to Marlee Lehrfeld in 1958. They had three children: Lane Austin Jameson died in 1970 at Bridgeport, TX in a boating accident; Wendy Ada Jameson; & Matthew Harvey Jameson.
