constructed of red Burnet granite and gray
brick with a clock dome. Corsicana does
not have a town square like most county
seats.

The courthouse was completed in 1886 for $55,555.
The exterior was restored in the early 1990s and
restoration of the interior was done in 2003. The
location of this courthouse is usual for being
built in the middle of an intersection.

Note: This courthouse was built by the Works
Project Administration. Recently renovated.
The first two of the four courthouses were
destroyed by fire. The third was a beautiful
sandstone courthouse but was condemned for
crumbling mortar. A new courthouse was built
near the Interstate Hwy.
