OLENA BURCH HOWARD born in Lingleville, TX, on
Feb. 29, 1908, to Harvey & Lulla Burch. She went
to Ranger High School in Ranger, TX and was a
cheerleader in 1926-27. Olena met Thomas "T-Bone"
Howard who worked for Walker-Smith Grocery Co.
She went to Abilene to attend business school
and they married in Oct. of 1929. Olena died
at Cortez, CO, in 1992 and her husband died in
Graham in 1973 and they are both buried in Summit
Ridge Cemetery, Dolores, CO. She was raised in
the old T.P. Camp on the north side of Ranger.
They had two children, Thomas Burch Howard &
Glenda Gayle Howard Moore. Her siblings were
Bessie Burch Anderson (RHS-1922), Jo Burch Gray
(1928), & Harvey G. Burch (RHS-1935).
