JO BURCH GRAY might have been born in Thurber but
probably was born in Lingleville, to Harvey & Lula
Burch on Jan. 30, 1911. After attending Ranger
High School at Ranger, TX, she went to Ranger Jr.
College and then taught in the Ranger system. She
always told her brother Harvey G. "Bill" Burch
(RHS-1935) that he had better be a good student in
her class or he would not only have her to account
to but also his father. She married Sylvan Gray
(RHS-1929), also a graduate from RHS and they tried
to attend as many of the high school reunions as
health would allow. They are both buried just outside
of El Paso, TX. She died on March 28, 2003 and he in
1992. Their children were Thomas Sylvan Gray Jr. and
Sherry Jo Gray. Tommy died in El Paso and is buried
by his parents. Sylvan's father was a barber in Ranger.
Her sister was Olena Burch Howard (RHS-1927).
