Ranger Exes Memorial - RHS Class of 1944

Ed Freeman EDWARD U. "ED" FREEMAN, 67, was born on Sept. 4, 1925, in Thurber, TX to Earl Franklin & Julia Viola McCoy Freeman. He attended Ranger High School in the Class of 1944 at Ranger, TX. He had one daughter Brenda Sue Pyeatt and son-in-law Ray Pyeatt of Lawton, OK and two grandsons, Kevin and Kenan Pyeatt. He had a brother and sister to pass away in their childhood years. Four other sisters, Odessa Freeman Roberson, Willie Freeman Joyner, Flogene Freeman Throne (RHS-1948), Betty Jo Freeman Ryan (RHS-1950) & one brother Ocie Willard Freeman survive. Edward was the retired owner and operator of Medevac Ambulance Service, which he started in 1982. He also started the Medevac Ambulance in Coleman in 1988. He served on the Ranger and Abilene police forces before moving to Brownwood and worked with the Brownwood Community Hospital ambulance service. He was a Baptist and lived in Brownwood for 20 years. He spent most of his life helping other people. He was kind and con- siderate and loved to visit and talk with friends and never saw a stranger. He died in Brownwood on Aug. 13, 1993 with interment at the Jenkins Spring Cemetery.
