Ranger Exes Memorial - Others

FRANKLIN PHILLIP & SARAH EMMALINE CRUSE KRIBBS were longtime residents of Ranger, TX having moved there in 1924. They lived at 501 Elm Street. They had seven children (four daughters, three sons). Mr. Frank P. Kribbs Sr., 90, a longtime Ranger resident, passed away on Nov. 10, 1971 in a Stephenville hospital following a lengthy illness. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery. To the children and grandchildren, Frank was always known as "Pop." Mr. Kribbs was born May 22, 1881 in Clarion County, PA, and was married to Sarah Cruse in December of 1903 in Dillman, IN, and moved to Illinois in 1908. He worked in the oilfields in Bridgeport, IL, until 1922 when he came to Texas where he worked for T&P Coal & Oil Company at Strawn. They moved to Ranger in 1924 where he served as district superintendent until his retirement in 1951. Mrs. Kribbs Emma was born Aug. 6, 1884 in Dillman, IN, and died Nov. 6, 1944. He was a member of the Baptist Church and of the Elks Lodge. Survivors include four daughters, Waldine Kribbs of Ranger, Mrs. William R. (Geraldine) McPheeters of Dallas, and Mrs. James A. (Bernadine) Blue also of Dallas and Mrs Owen (Yvonne) Gallagher of Corpus Christi, three sons, F.P. (Phil) Kribbs Jr. of Breckenridge, Eugene E. Kribbs of Dallas, and Merle W. (Buster) Kribbs of Stephenville, 16 grandchildren and 12 great- grandchildren. Children of Franklin Phillip Kribbs & Sarah Cruse Kribbs: Waldine Kribbs, Geraldine Kribbs McPheeters, Bernadine Kribbs Blue (RHS-1928), Franklin Phillip (Phil) Kribbs Jr. (RHS-1938), Eugene "Gene" Edd Kribbs (RHS-1936, Breckenridge HS-1938), Yvonne Kribbs Gallagher (RHS-1939) & Merle W. "Buster" Kribbs (RHS-1943). Also: Louise Newman Kribbs (RHS 1938), wife of Phil Kribbs and Mildred Fern "Toots" Mitchell Kribbs (RHS-1937), wife of Gene Kribbs (RHS-1936).
